How to get sharper shots?

No matter how big pixels your camera has, it is worthless if your picture is not sharp enough. Sharp picture is essential in order to get your pictures categorized under great pictures. So how to get sharper shots?

1. Shutter speed

Use high shutter speed to get sharper shots. Slow shutter will make shots blurred. First rule of thumb is, you should set your shutter to 1/60 and above (if lens is focused at 50mm and below) as this will get you sharper shots. Secondly you should set you shutter value above the lens focuing length value. For example if you are shooting at 200mm, you shutter speed should be set at 1/250 and above (based on 1 stop exposure value) and if you are shooting at 50mm, then your shutter speed should be……? yes, 1/60 and above.

How to shoot water screen

This month, at Putrajaya, Malaysia we have the world biggest water screen show. I went out to try shooting water screen for the first time. But for water screen shot, I have to use faster shutter speed. The best is 1/8 and above. It was quite hard actually to get the right exposure because of the faster shutter speed.

The rule of third

Long before the DSLR comes to life, the photographer used a very simple camera. It really test the photographer’s skills. But today half of the hardship has been reduced by the sophisticated electronic camera. The image are sharper, the exposure are more accurate.
